Now down to55 days, in many ways the time is dragging; in other ways there are so many things to do we are struggling to keep up. As I keep rubbing in to colleagues at work, "Only xxx days to go - not that I'm counting! To all you folks at work. I hope I'm not p$^%&#g you off too much'!
Our flights are all booked and all relevant documents ready. In terms of this we are way ahead of ourselves! We're still trying to get the hang of this blogging lark and that'll keep me occupied for a while at least.
Trying to pack for a 6 month trip spanning the Middle East, Europe in Autumn, England and America in Winter and then the tropics before returning to Australia in late Summer is a nightmare. Add to that the need to pack both formal and casual wear and it does cause one heck of a headache. Managed to ship one case of Winter and formal wear to England so that lightens the load a little bit. Now we only have 3 cases to carry on the trains around Europe. Should be fun. And no, we're NOT looking for sympathy, lol.
Work-wise I'm already in 'downward' mode and just can't keep in gear at work. I guess I need a month off work just to wind down before we leave. I'm sure the boss won't mind; I'm not much use at work now anyway. Besides, Julie has already quit work so it's only fair that I do too!
OK, I'll cut the drivel and sign off for now. Be back again in a week or so.

Countdown to the world............
8th July 2012
Now counting down to our trip of a lifetime. We're new to this blogging malarky so bear with us as we learn. Our idea is for all of our friends (both of them!) to follow us as we galavant around the world.
The idea is to post every few days and place a few photos as we make our way around the world. Hopefully we wont $@#% too many of you off as we do so.
It's 62 days to take-off - 06:00 hrs on Saturday 8th Sept 2012 - and we now have to start really getting into gear to prepare. The occasional blogs we post prior to 'take-off' will be posted with a view to practicing or blogging skills ready for the big trip.
We hope you will want to follow this trip as we wend our merry way, and after all if you do it will beat the heck out of having to look at the photos on our return. Will post again in a few days.
