So, St Moritz, said to be the playground of the rich and famous. We never met up with any of the rich and famous but then it is ‘out of season.
It appears that the winter
season here doesn’t start til late October so at least we have missed the
crowds (again) and the associated increased prices. Even the PRADA store was closed and wouldn't even open for us to have a look around!
This place is just gorgeous and
it’s easy to see why folks come here. We spent the first day just wandering
around and found our way to a lake.
We spent the next 90 minutes walking around
it and just drinking in the environment.
Each angle of view was spectacular in its’ own way and we
could have stayed for longer.
From there it was back to our hotel for lunch and then further
sightseeing around town. We then had dinner at the hotel as part of our package
deal and this exceeded our expectations. It turned out to be full ‘silver spoon’
service so we were spoiled rotten.
I even asked the Maitre d’ which of two desserts he would recommend
with his response being “both”! I thus decided on one only to have him bring
both, the second one being complimentary. Such is life!
Day 2 saw us venturing further out. Again our travel was free
as part of the hotel package so with this in mind we just jumped on a bus to
see where it would lead. Prior to getting on the bus we sorted ourselves a
small picnic to have when we found somewhere quiet. And somewhere quiet we did
indeed find.
These are the views we had as we munched on our rolls and
cakes.
