MOTORHOME TO FITZROY CROSSING

Today we set off for Broome via Fitzroy Crossing. There is very little at Fitzroy apart from a glorious river and a fantastic campsite.

We knew of the campsite from a previous visit here when we stayed a night in one of the chalets.

On this occasion we stayed at the campsite and again it was an idyllic setting.

The trip took us through Halls Creek; yet another place to 'give a miss'!

We had a great run here along the Victoria highway and once again the scenery was superb.

We were lucky to see this cute little Goanna crossing the road.

He even ‘performed’ a little ‘dance’ as he crossed in front of us.

It is really interesting to watch the scenery change as we travel on our way, with the landscape becoming increasingly rugged.

As we decided to stop off for lunch we followed the signs to a rest stop only to find a ‘Road Closed’ sign.

However we decided to see how far we could get and were well rewarded with the road crossing in full flood from the recent rains.

It was a great place to stop and have lunch before continuing on our way.
